In 1 Samuel 13, as Samuel is rebuking King Saul and his leadership, he refers to David as "a man after God's own heart." It's an incredibly lofty title that is bestowed upon David before he has even been identified as the future king. In our day we spend an abundance of time trying to find the best version of everything. We scour online reviews and seek out personal recommendations for everything from the best cheeseburger to the best socket wrench set. Sometimes when you peruse social media it seems that everyone is chasing perfection in every aspect of their lives and yet, even King David, the man after God's heart was deeply flawed. In this five week series we will dive into David's many flaws to discover that the type of person most often used by God is not powerful, qualified and competent. On the contrary God uses the deeply flawed to do some of his greatest work.
